District Cub Camp May 2014

Nearly 90 Cubs and Leaders arrived to brilliant weather at Forest Camp in Cheshire last Friday. The weather was fantastic from start to finish and enabled us to have our meals outside, enjoy the activities and take home dry tents!
The theme of the weekend was Scouting yesterday, today and tomorrow. Saturday's activities included backwoods cooking down by the lake where the Cubs made their supper of an apple crumble in an orange for the evening to come. There was also a base on disability awareness, this along with the backwoods cooking have enabled the Cubs to achieve a fair amount of 2 of the new badges brought out across the section. Alongside these were sessions on the Climbing Wall and the Low Ropes on site - no mean feat in the blazing sun reaching 20 degrees! After a fancy dress competition for the best dressed futuristic Cub we had a campfire with all the usual, and some new, songs.
On Sunday we had a Scouts Own service, where the 2nd were awarded their Cup for the best Tent Inspection points. The morning consisted of the Cubs preparing their lunch to be cooked on the campfire and writing all about their Pack and the things they enjoy about Cubs which will be going into a time capsule to be buried at Waterside Lodge this summer.
All of the Cubs were exceedingly well behaved and thanks to the smooth running bases, the excellent meals and the crowd controlling by all of the leaders a good time was had by all!
