District Cub Water Fun Day

Southport District Cubs held their annual Water Fun Day on Sunday 9th July. Overall 180 Cubs attended, the largest number yet for this type of event, split over a Morning and Afternoon session having fun on Kayaks, Sailing, Bell Boating, Barrel Racing and pretending to be Vikings on a Viking Long Boat. The Long Boat was a special addition for this year's event. Each Pack had painted a shield that could be used on the side of the Long Boat. The Long Boat itself was a converted Dragon boat, with a new Dragon head and mast & sail. Some of the Cub Packs also supplied viking helmets so most of the Cubs on the boat could wear these as well. The Cubs all enjoyed the day, especially when the Sun came out, and there were a few water fights along the way. Many Thanks to all the instructors and leaders that helped ensure the Cubs had lots of fun filled memories from this one.
