District Cub Camp 2017

Our District Cubs rounded off a very busy Summer of District events by having their District Cub Camp at Scarisbrick Hall Guide Campsite on the weekend of 21 – 23rd July. Over 100 Cubs attended from 7 of our Cub Packs. The weather was very mixed. It was either blisteringly hot or throwing it down, but none of that stopped us having loads of fun.
On the Friday night we played wide games. Saturday we split into 6 Groups and the Cubs went round trying different activities including :- craft (decorating plate bags), zip wires, zorbing, catapult range, trampolining, scavenger hunts, pedal kart racing, an assault course and Sumo wrestling on space hoppers. That day was rounded off with campfire songs / skits and toasted marshmallows, and we actually got to do 'Singing in the rain'....in the rain….before it kindly stopped.
Sunday was very hot, so after breaking camp we got the water slide out and also tried duck shooting (with a supersoaker) and made giant bubbles...Phew!
At Flag beak on the Sunday morning, one of the 19th’s tents was awarded the ‘Inspection Trophy’, for gaining the most points after the 2 morning tent inspections that had taken place.
Many thanks go to all our leaders for giving up their time over the weekend and beforehand , prepping for camp, organising food etc. Special thanks to Ashley from the 55th who slaved away in the kitchen all weekend. All reports are we had lots of happy, tired Cubs from this one.
