The 'Big Adventure' World Record attempt on Sunday 12th May has now been opened up to all sections. If you wish your Beavers & Cubs to take part you should book by the end of March. Please go to the County Website for more details.

Lord Derby Challenge

This years District Lord Derby Competition took place today with Scout teams taking on a number of skilled based challenges. Congratulations to 1st Southport Lockhart Troop whose 'A' Team won the competition, closely followed by the 48th Scouts and in Third place Lockhart's 'B' Team. Well done who everyone that took part!

Scout Equinox Challenge - Delamere Forest

1st Southport Lockhart & Shackleton Scout Troops entered the Equinox Challenge this weekend. They spent the day in Delamere Forest using their Scouting skills to find hidden checkpoints whilst being hunted down by teams of Explorer Scouts. 350 Scouts were involved in the Challenge representing 27 Scout Groups from 13 Districts.

62nd Cub Pack win District Swimming Gala

This years Cub Swimming Gala took place last night at Formby Swimming Pool which consisted of serious events such as straight freestyle races to fun events such as lilo racing so less confident swimmers could also take part. Congratulations to the 62nd Cub Pack who achieved the double by winning the Relay Trophy and Overall Competition for the second year in a row. Second and third places in the Relay went to the 1st Southport (Panthers) and the 19th Cub Pack. Second and Third in the overall Competition went to the 1st Southport (Panthers) and the 61st Cub Pack.

County Young People's Awards Day

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from Merseyside County attended the County Young Person's Awards Day yesterday, 10th November. The County Commissioner presented them with the highest awards that can be earned as a Beaver, Cub or Scout ; The Chief Scout Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. One family attending (pictured) ,from the 1st Southport (Ainsdale) Scout Group, had a Beaver, Cub and Scout who had all achieved the Chief Scout award for their section within the same year.

48th Cub Pack Win District Indoor Competition

Congratulations to the 48th Cub Pack who came first place in this years Indoor Competition. They were closely followed by the 2nd and 55th Cub Packs who came joint second.
The competition is skills based and this year took the form of a quiz in which the cubs were tested on their Scouting & General knowledge as well as there being a practical round which included tieing a Reef knot etc

48th Scout Troop win County Cooking Competition

Congratulations to Southport's 48th Scout Troop who won the County Cooking Competition last weekend.
They beat teams from around Merseyside who had each qualified for the competition by competing in their own District versions of the event.
Congratulations also to the 1st Southport Lockhart Scout Troop who were also representing Southport and came in second place.
Well done to everybody.
